Develop Your Talent in the Temple of the Arts: Scholarships La Scala Theater Academy

Art is the lifeblood of Italian culture and identity and La Scala Theater in Milan has embodied its excellence for more than two centuries. More than just a world-renowned stage, La Scala is a talents hub and an essential touchstone for those aspiring to turn their passion into a career.

Indeed, La Scala Theater Academy of Performing Arts and Crafts is one of the most prestigious institutions for training artists, technicians, and managers in the performing arts sector.

Among its educational opportunities, the Academy offers two particularly distinguished programs: the Advanced Course for Opera Singers and the Global Master in Performing Arts Management. To support outstanding international students, the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI) is offering dedicated scholarships for these programs.

ADVANCED COURSE FOR OPERA SINGERS

Founded in 1997 by Riccardo Muti and inspired by the historic “Cadets of La Scala” program established by Arturo Toscanini in 1950, the Advanced Course for Opera Singers is a two-year program designed to refine the skills of young talents. Through intensive training and direct participation in La Scala Theater productions, students enhance their technical and interpretative abilities under the guidance of world-renowned artists and instructors. The esteemed Luciana D’Intino leads the program.

GLOBAL MASTER IN PERFORMING ARTS MANAGEMENT

Developed in collaboration with Politecnico di Milano – Graduate School of Management and Piccolo Teatro di Milano, this Master’s program trains future professionals in the field of performing arts management. Combining rigorous academic study with hands-on experience at prestigious institutions such as La Scala Theater, the program also includes practical projects in Berlin, New York, and Delft in partnership with leading European and American universities. The aim is to develop professional skills in areas such as general management, artistic direction, production, fundraising, communication, and marketing.
