Climate change is the pivotal challenge of our time, and young generation is at the forefront of the response. Their vision, creativity, and energy serve as a driving force for change, transforming innovative ideas into tangible solutions for a sustainable future. Italy remains committed to fostering youth engagement through the Youth4Climate initiative, providing concrete tools to amplify their voices and support impactful projects worldwide.
Through the Call for Solutions 2025, launched by the Italian Ministry of Environment and Energy Security in collaboration with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), young people across the globe once again have the opportunity to propose and implement innovative solutions to tackle climate change.
THE INITIATIVE
Since its inception, Youth4Climate has funded 100 projects in 52 countries, allocating a total of $2.5 million, with a strong focus on inclusion (50% of projects led by women) and vulnerable countries (47% of projects implemented in Africa).
The 2025 edition of the Call is open to people aged from 18 to 29 and to youth-led organizations, who can submit projects in the following thematic areas:
- Sustainable Energy – Innovation and access to clean energy;
- Food and Agriculture – Climate-resilient agricultural practices;
- Climate and Health – The impact of climate change on public health;
- Digital for the Planet – Digital technologies for climate resilience;
- Climate, Peace, and Security – Climate action in conflict-affected areas;
- Nature for Climate Action – Nature-based solutions for adaptation and mitigation.
Each selected project will receive $30,000 in funding, with a maximum implementation period of 24 months. A key new feature this year is the expansion of language accessibility: in addition to English, French, and Spanish, can also be submitted applications in Portuguese, since the next COP30 will take place in Brazil.
HOW TO APPLY
Deadline: May 26, 2025 (23:59 CET)
- Register on the Youth4Climate platform and create a profile;
- Download and complete the required documents (Guidelines, Budget, and Workplan);
- Prepare a 3-minute video presenting your project;
- Submit your application via the online platform.
