Exhibition on the Italian Archaeological Missions to Jordan

On the occasion of the 13th International Conference on the History and Archeology of Jordan on the theme of “Ethics in Archeology”, promoted by the Department of Antiquities from the 22nd to the 26th of May, the Italian Embassy hosted an exhibition, which paid tribute to the Italian Archaeological Missions to Jordan, as a proof of the Italian excellency and of the historical bilateral cooperation in the field of study and preservation of cultural heritage.

During the event, the Italian Ambassador Giovanni Brauzzi bestowed Mr. Franco Sciorilli with the “Onorificenza dell’Ordine della Stella d’Italia”, decoration of the Knight of Italian Star. Mr. Sciorilli is an Italian restorer and a member of the Studium Biblicum Francescanum missions, dedicated to the restoration of Byzantine mosaic floors of the Memorial of Moses in Mount Nebo. He has been constantly engaged in the restoration and conservation of Jordanian cultural heritage.
