In the last weeks the Italian Ambassador Patrizio Fondi had an intense round of meetings with highest-ranking representatives of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, with the goal to present the main features and objectives of its newly started mission to the Country, to discuss the current situation in Jordan and to consider possible joint projects to further strengthen the excellent bilateral relations.
In particular, Ambassador Fondi examined with the Speaker of the Senate Taher Masri and the Speaker of Lower House Saad Al Srour the last political developments of the Kingdom and the evolution of international dossiers.
The Head of Mission exchanged as well views over the security situation in Jordan and in the area with Minister of Interior Hussein Majali and with the Director General of the Public Security Department Lt. Gen. Tawfiq Tawalbeh.
Furthermore, possible projects of economic cooperation were considered in the meetings held by Ambassador Fondi with the representatives of Prime Minister Abdullah Ensour’s government, with specific regard for Jordan’s participation to EXPO Milan 2015 and for the involvement of Italian institutions and companies in the sectors of water, energy, transport, education and culture.
