CONCERT OF THE ITALIAN BAND “RADIODERVISH”. OCTOBER 1ST 2013, HUSSEIN CULTURAL CENTER 20.30

On the occasion of the Week of the Italian Language 2013, the Italian Embassy is delighted to present, in cooperation with Società Dante Alighieri, the special musical event “Human. Words and music across the Mediterranean”.

Four selected musicians from the renown Italian band “Radiodervish” will offer the Jordanian audience a refined and unique performance whose special feature is the musical narration of the Mediterranean area.

The founders of the group – the Palestinian origin Nabil Salameh, voice, and Italian Michele Lobaccaro – have drawn their inspiration from Persian texts of the twelfth century and from the spiritual writings and poetry that have marked Mediterranean history and mythological imagery, seeking for time and space beyond all the borders.

The band is also used to overcome language barriers due to their ability to sing in Arabic, English, Italian, Spanish and French.

In their musical career “Radiodervish” have often collaborate with other artists of international renown and has frequently performed all over the world and in particular, in the Mediterranean area, including Stewart Copeland, Nicola Piovani, Amal Morkus, Rim Banna, Franco Battiato, Paola Turci, Simone Cristicchi, Niccolò Fabi, Caparezza.

The project is co-funded by the European Union and sponsored by Royal Jordanian, Official Carrier of the event, and Regency Palace Hotel.
