The project “Le vie dell’Amicizia” is part of the Ravenna Festival and is coming to Jerash and Pompeii. The two archaeological sites, sharing a common past, will come to life under the direction of Maestro Riccardo Muti, who will host a concert to promote friendship and communication through music. After the debut in Ravenna on 7 July, the Maestro will perform on 9 July at the Roman Theatre of Jerash, before concluding in Pompeii on 11 July. On the stage Muti will be directing the Orchestra Giovanile Luigi Cherubini and the Coro Cremona Antiqua along with some talented Jordanian musicians in Gluck’s Orfeo and Euridice, arias and choirs by Bellini’s Norma and in Brahms’ “Canto del Destino”.
The concert in Jerash is organized by the Jordanian Italian Forum for Cooperation, with the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, the Embassy of Italy in Amman and the Emilia-Romagna Region. To buy tickets: eTathkara
Within this framework, the dialogue between Italy and Jordan is also defined through mosaics, and the Municipality of Ravenna and the city of Madaba are twinned thanks to this art form. From July 4th to August 7th, the Jordan National Gallery of Fine Arts in Amman will host the exhibition “The Invisible Cities. Madaba- Ravenna Mosaic Exhibition”. Don’t miss it!
